Do I Need to Book an Appointment to Get a Piercing?

Walk-in piercing services are available from Wednesday to Sunday.

Do I Need to Book an Appointment to Get a Tattoo?

Tattoos usually require booking an appointment with a tattoo artist. However, if your project doesn’t require special preparation and one of our artists is available and willing to carry out your project, they’ll be happy to receive you without an appointment.

Can I Get a Tattoo Covered Up?

Most of our artists are qualified to do cover-up tattoos. Though, if they think another tattoo artist would be best suited to your project, they won’t hesitate to refer you to a colleague they know will make you happy.

How Old do I Have to Be to Get a Piercing?

We do not pierce the ears of children under 7 years old.

If you’re under 16, you need to be accompanied by a parent.

Aside from ear piercing, we don’t perform any other body piercing on minors under 14. As for nipple piercing, clients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

For genital piercing, you must be over 18.

* Both parent and minor are required to fill an authorization form and provide at least one valid ID, such as:

  • Health insurance card
  • Driver’s license

Can I Get a Tattoo Consultation Over the Phone or by Email?

No, we don’t do tattoo consultations over the phone or by email. It is crucial to meet with the tattoo artist of your choice face to face, at the studio. To make an appointment for a consultation, give us a call.

We can also help you choose your tattoo artist if you provide us with some reference pictures and a short description of the project you have in mind. Additionally, you can come by the studio without an appointment and talk to us about your project. We’ll recommend you the tattoo artist best suited to your needs and preferences.

How Expensive Is a Tattoo?

The minimum fee is $70. For small and medium pieces, a price per piece (or approximative budget) is determined when making an appointment or when the tattoo sketch is done.

For medium and large pieces, we can fix a one-session price.

An hourly rate is only applicable on large and extra large pieces, or on highly detailed projects  when the timing of completion is uncertain.

A deposit may be needed based on the size of the project.

The hourly rate is $130 / hour. Our prices and tarification always include sales taxes.

How Can I get an Estimate for a Tattoo?

To get an estimate, you need to consult one of our tattoo artists. We don’t talk prices on the phone or by email.

If you already know which tattoo artist you want to work on your project, give us a call to book an appointment for a free consultation. If you don’t know which artist to pick, we’ll help you choose the best one for you.

How Old do I Have to Be to Get a Tattoo?

In order to get a tattoo, if you’re under 18, you need to be accompanied by a parent.*

Magnum Tattoo Inc. and its subcontractors always reserve the right to refuse to perform a procedure on a minor if they’re uncomfortable with a project, even with a parent present and with their given permission.

* Both parent and minor are required to fill an authorization form and provide at least one valid ID, such as:

  • Health insurance card
  • Driver’s license

My Tattoo or Piercing Doesn’t Seem to Be Healing Correctly. What Do I Do?

It’s extremely difficult to diagnose and advise on a problem by email or  over the phone. If you need help, simply come by the studio, without prior appointment, so we can better assist you.

Can I Use Numbing Cream Before Getting a Piercing?

Highly ineffective, topical analgesics harden and contract the skin, making the procedure much more difficult than it needs to be. Once the numbing cream stops working, the skin relaxes, revealing a piercing that may not be placed correctly. It should be noted that a crooked piercing might considerably hinder the healing process.

The piercing forceps slightly numb the skin and the procedure is quick and relatively painless.

Therefore, to ensure quality work, we prefer not to work with topical analgesics.
